Courtney Schingledecker joined Thoroughbred Advisors in May of 2015 as the Director of Selection and Development. In this role, she is utilizing her recruiting background to build a team of financial and insurance professionals in the Capital Region. Courtney came to Thoroughbred Advisors after being introduced to Managing Partner, Conor Boyd, by one of her previous supervisors. At the time, Courtney was working as an in-house Technical Recruiter for a bustling IT company in Clifton Park and Conor was in the market for someone to join him in taking Thoroughbred Advisors to the next level. While she enjoyed and was successful in her role with the IT company, Courtney was inspired by Conor’s vision and could not turn down the opportunity to help grow Thoroughbred Advisors.  

 

Courtney earned her bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College in May 2011, with a dual major in Human Resources Management and Management and Leadership. She has been a member of Capital Region Human Resource Association since 2013. With a passion for connecting people and reducing our local unemployment rate, Courtney is the Chair of the Workforce Readiness Committee. She is responsible for organizing the committee to attend events throughout the year where they support job seekers in our area. Combining her positive attitude and optimistic outlook, Courtney is driven to succeed through empowering others to reach their full potential.  

 

Courtney joined the Capital Region Chamber’s Young Professionals Network’s  Executive Mentorship Committee in 2016. As a Mentorship Ambassador and member of this committee, Courtney and her peers have the mission to strengthen the Capital Region workforce through pairing young professionals with experienced and successful individuals in our community. The program offers an opportunity for personal and professional development, growth, fulfilment, and empowerment. As a Mentorship Ambassador Courtney  provides guidance and support throughout the program to ensure a rewarding and meaningful experience.  

 

With a lifelong involvement and passion for cheerleading, Courtney was excited to join the NYS Cheer Judges Association, Section II Executive Board in 2016. In her role as NYS Certified Judge and Section II Secretary, Courtney enjoys employing her technical knowledge of the sport to officiate high school cheerleading competitions throughout New York state.
